GIITTV: NEWS: Paul Draper reveals first Track from long awaited Solo LP ‘Spooky Action’

Former Mansun front man Paul Draper will finally release his debut solo album this summer.

Spooky Action’ will arrive on August 11th through Kscope and follow-up last year’s ‘EP One’ and ‘EP Two’. Check out its opening track, Don’t Poke The Bear, below.Perhaps even more adventurous  than anything on either EP this pysch and prog squalled sound, signals a song that mediates upon shifting emotions.

The Mansun frontman will play his first solo shows this autumn, calling in Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, London, Bristol and Birmingham between September 14 and 23. He will be joined by a full live band, which will include Catherine Anne Davies, aka the Anchoress.

Here’s what he told the NME about the album: 

  1. I’d originally planned on recording a solo album called ‘Spooky Action’ after Mansun split but shelved it as I wasn’t in a place personally that I could make music at the time.”

  3. “However, the recording session went so well that we decided to do a second recording session and I loved playing so much with my new band that I’m putting together a whole album of these songs now. We’ve got on a real roll in the studio.”
